Privacy policy

This page explains what personal information Prevu Web collects when you use this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It's written in plain English, not legal jargon.

Who we are

The data controller for this website is Prevu Web. You can reach us at hello@prevuweb.co.uk for any question, request, or complaint about your data.

What we collect

We're a small studio site. We don't run advertising, analytics, or tracking scripts, and we don't set any cookies. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us through the contact forms or by email.

The site has two forms:

  • A general message form in the "Get in touch" section, which collects your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the message box.
  • A preview request form in the "Request a site" section, which collects your business name, your name, your email address, your town, what your business does, and any extra notes you add. There's also an optional field for a link to your current website, if you have one.

Both forms also carry three hidden technical fields used by the email relay — a subject line, an email-template setting, and a "next page" redirect. There's also a separate hidden bot-trap field: it's never seen or filled in by a real visitor, and it's there to deter junk submissions.

If you'd rather not use the forms, you can email us directly using any of the hello@prevuweb.co.uk mailto links on the site. Anything you send by email is treated the same way as the form submissions.

Why we collect it, and on what basis

We use the information you send us to:

  • Reply to your question or enquiry.
  • Build the website preview you asked for, if you've used the preview request form.
  • Keep a normal email record of our conversation so we can refer back to it.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on are:

  • Legitimate interests — to run a working enquiry and preview-request service, and to keep a reasonable record of conversations with the people who contact us.
  • Consent — you give consent by choosing to fill in a form or write to us in the first place. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your rights" below) and we'll act on it.

Who else receives your data

Both forms send your message through FormSubmit, a third-party email relay service. FormSubmit receives your submission, forwards it to our inbox (enquiry@prevuweb.co.uk for the general form, request@prevuweb.co.uk for the preview request), and then keeps a copy only for as long as FormSubmit's standard delivery and anti-abuse checks require. FormSubmit acts as a data processor on our behalf.

We don't share your information with anyone else. We don't sell it, and we don't pass it to advertisers — because we don't collect anything an advertiser would want.

How long we keep it

We keep the email thread with you for as long as it's useful to us both — typically while we're working on your enquiry or preview, and for a short while afterwards in case you come back. If you'd like us to delete a thread sooner, just ask (see "Your rights" below) and we'll do it.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct anything that's wrong or incomplete.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("the right to be forgotten").
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data while a question is being resolved.
  • Objection — object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests.
  • Portability — ask for a machine-readable copy of the data you've given us, so you can take it elsewhere.
  • Withdraw consent — if we've relied on your consent, you can take it back at any time, and we'll stop using your data for that purpose.

To use any of these rights, email hello@prevuweb.co.uk. We'll reply as quickly as we can, and in any case within one month, as the UK GDPR requires.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent body set up to uphold data protection rights. You can find them and start a complaint at ico.org.uk.
